Keywords are too much hype

I have a website, to which I get on average 250,000 visitors every month.
I use no keywords.
And I make good money from it

 

Don't fix what isn't broken, if it works why change! By the way well done and yes keywords do get a lot of hype but if they work for others, then good for them, for yourself keep doing what you're doing. All the best!

Yes, I use only social media to drive traffic!

 

It's great to hear you make a good money... But this is surprising without keywords; social networking networks are a terrific method to attract traffic, but I believe you need also employ keywords. Keywords assist the algorithm in determining the topic of a piece of content. What a webpage is about in the eyes of search engines. Your web page will outperform your competition on search engines if you do it correctly.

How much do you spend in advertising on social media? In terms of time or money.

 

If you have hyperlinks their anchor text is going to be keywords on your site. Also image descriptions/alt text serve as keywords on your site.
