How to practice with keyword research for Blog writing?

There are too many tools for someone like me, for starting out making a blog from scratch. Why should I pay for a tool I don't even understand, for starters, and only am able to use a little bit at once? See how that does not fit my needs?

How to practice keyword research for starters, and with what tools? And, how to measure progress?

    1. Start your keyword research with broader keywords and then narrow it down to find keywords with low competition and more search volume.
    2. Enter your own URL in SEMRush or Ahrefs to see your own keyword performance and then compare it with your competitors.

Sign up for a Google Ads account and use their keyword tool. There may be a limit on how long you can use it for free, seems like I heard something about that. But it is a great tool, especially when it comes to recommending related keywords. You can also sign up for a free trial to WebCEO, which I use, in my signature.

Okay, how do I practice, with Google Ads? I can throw out specific examples, of what I'm trying to do, specifically, at any rate; also, is it a search engine you can use as much as you want over a specific period of days or more, or do you only have a certain amount of times you can use Google Ads daily? That matters; I've bought similar services not understanding them, and if I get them, not know how to use them, I should at least be able to use them enough to learn how.

Is there a tutorial for Google Ads?

I don't understand how to specifically tie it to what I'm researching. Do you specifically know a a Google Ads tutorial teaching what you just said, about "broader" keywords, and then narrowing them? Beyond that, the second part you listed seems to be follow-up, the reaction after one has posted.

Well you don't actually need to learn Google Ads, that is quite complicated and really takes years..
What you are wanting, is access to the Google database of every search made on Google. If you sign up for an account, you will have access to the Keyword Tool in the upper Nav bar. You then can figure it out pretty easily.

But for instance, you can put a keyword in the tool, and it gives you the option to get recommendations for similar keywords. And you will get a LOT of them. As far as I know, this is the best service for that.

At one time you could have an account, never run an ad, and still have access to this tool. But I believe they limit your use now, in other words if you aren't going to run any actual ads, you can't have full permanent access to it. I have ad accounts for my PPC clients, so I don't have any limits. It's free for me, but I am paying for clicks.

And I also pay for my WebCEO software which has a lot of options too. But I still like to use Google on occasion.

Hi, one suggestion and absolutely free is going on Amazon. Type in whatever you feel relevant or you are wanting to rank for. Once its typed in their search bar you will be presented with the exact wording people use to search for that particular subject, be it a physical or digital product, the top one being the one most popular.

There are many keyword tools, paid and otherwise and there has been a lot already mentioned about Google Ads so wont delve into that any further.

What I would say is try going for longer-tail keywords, not only are they more specific, the person clicking the link will also know exactly what the subject matter is, but they are easier to rank for many times. Only make sure that whatever site or page they link to is relevant to the keyword being used.

I did a blog on this a while back which you are welcome to check out that provides an alternative perhaps entitled What is the best keyword search tool? (again long-tailed and specific to the audience and it tells you in the description what it's about.)

It's not mandatory that you pay for some keywords research tool in the beginning as there are sufficient free options available that you can freely use and that can also provide you some good insights. For example, there is Google Keywords Planner for this, you can use Keywords Everywhere extensions as well, some tools like KWFinder, and so on. Also, some more advanced tools like Ubersuggest have some free trial periods that you can use when you need to do some short analyses.

Keyword research is a strategy that content writers and SEO specialists use to research. It enables you to uncover the terms consumers use to search for information, goods, and services in your sector.
After that, you may use those keywords and phrases on your website to increase search traffic.
Many newcomers believe they have a firm grasp of what their consumers want. However, you are not required to make informed assumptions when strong technologies exist to assist you in making data-driven judgments.
Utilizing keyword research effectively as part of your content strategy might assist you in accomplishing the following:
    • Discover the most popular terms that your consumers are searching for.
    • Make a list of simple content ideas to rank for and have a reasonable search volume.
    • Determine what your rivals are doing and then outdo them with a more effective content strategy.
    • Increase your search traffic and readership with each new content.

Specifically, my desired blog focus is US foreign policy from a right-wing angle dealing with Russia, China, the Middle East, but from an anti-isolationist, anti-appeasement standpoint,, attacking the left, but now, more frequently than I expected, the right, as well.

As such, here is a list of my blog's sub-focuses:

Sub Topics for My Foreign Policy Blog

    Russia

    China

    Middle East

    Morality in Foreign Policy

    Attacking the hypocritical anti-war critics

    When to use force

    Appeasement

Okay. How to do keyword research on a specific blog post, and what is the process? What specific research tools do you use, and are they free? How can you practice using them?

Say I wanna make a post on the Syrian Civil War bashing the Obama Ad ministration's response to the point of not taking action against genocide. What keywords do I research, and how? On what tool? What's the process?

Here are some potential keyword targets:
    Syria
    Assad
    Russia
    Obama
    Kerry
    Putin
    Syrian Civil War

Okay, how to research for this blog post? What tools to use, and how?
