In fact, lately I've been addicted to psychological thrillers. This is an incredible genre that makes you feel and think, and also opens your eyes to a lot.

I like movies with high quality comedy and unpredictable plots. Movies with mindless sex appeal, predictable plots, watered down dialogue, and conventional themes such as love or violence bore me to tears. Films with war propaganda via Pentagon script approval do not amuse me. "Gone with the Wind" is an arguably overrated soap opera film that dehumanizes the black people and gives anti-hero Scarlett O'Hara toxic damsel in distress stereotypes who sells her soul to Yankees. Rhett Butler is a cut-throat snake who allowed black slaves to be enslaved in "Gone with the Wind". I have no sympathy to simps who have intimate feelings towards this Rhett Butler character. "Gone with the Wind" made $390 million dollars in box office money because people during 1939 did not have much options for choosing films compared to now arguably. It's a crappy film that insulted black people regardless arguably. Mostly white people were praising "Gone with the Wind". So, I do not like overrated soap operas, films about racism, and movies with damsels in distress as you can see.

I am ready for a good sci fi movie. The reviews of The Silent Sea were great, but as much as I enjoy sci fi I don't find it particularly interesting to watch.

I prefer escapism when I watch movies. Save the drama, psychology, moral lessons, historicals, etc., etc., for someone else as I have enough of that in my real life. Give me fantasy or adventure with plenty of action to take my mind off of real life for a couple of hours. Wizards/dragons or space explorers/aliens are perennial favorites of mine. I also like the pure action/violence movies like Bourne, John Wick, Die Hard, etc. Comic book superhero's are usually fun to watch, as well.

That film is a watered down joke compared to the 1915 "Birth Of A Nation".

I don't think genre matters when a movie is really good. I can watch anything as long as it's not stereotypical and the same.

A couple of months ago, we subscribed to the Discovery+ Channel. Amazing how many cable TV channels are in their portfolio. We watch something on it almost every evening.

Haven't seen anything interesting in a long time. With comedies it's still okay, but when you watch horror, you get the feeling that I've already seen it. A lot of superhero idiocy that probably no one has watched for a long time. Now the most interesting genre is documentaries. A lot of money has been invested in documentaries and these films look really high quality.

While I generally really like horror films from any time period, I find many modern ones are needlessly gruesome. Old horror movies may get a reputation for being cheesy or boring because of how dated they are, but the acting and storytelling is way better in these decades: the 60s, 70s and 80s. I even enjoy a lot of movies from the silent era and beyond.

Today though, horror gaming is all about whoring out remakes. So horror games from over 20 years ago are still being remade, milked and disgraced, and also downgraded as well. It needs to stop.
