I hear about Cloud Computing, Cloud gaming, cloud servers all the time and how it is the way of the future but still don't understand what it is. Can anyone put it in easier to understand terms? What is it and is it the way of the future, thanks
You may call it as a way of the future. However, it would depend, because not all the sites have heavy requirements and need to be up with 100% uptime. Cloud Hosting, as the name suggest, there are multiple servers connected to each other forming a "cloud". So, if one server goes down, the websites are hosted from another server in the cloud. This assures 100% Uptime guarantee. Hope this helps
Cloud Computing is fully based on Virtualization. The Cloud computing getting power from Virtualization only. Normal Physical server Getting much of space and much of hardware. but in cloud very less space. but using more hardware. the same time high speed.
so i think that cloud computing is all about the online storage of data and the online services regarding the servers...or if i am somewhere wrong...tell me the right thing friends.
online storage, online data is part of the cloud. pls see this video.
thanks so much friend...so finally it is the online storage and online process for working...at any time or any place...which also prevents to run smoothly the whole system.
take an example of gmail we are using .its because of cloud services we are able to access our mails via pc or laptop or by even pda's etc .So basically cloud delivers faster ,scalable services to users ,sometimes free of cost like gmail while in other cases ,it charges some amount per hour, per day,or per month etc.for more clear about cloud visit here .You can find the basic features of cloud in the mentioned site
The Open Data Center Alliance is working actively to shape the future of cloud computing—a future based on open, interoperable standards.
Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet. These services are broadly divided into three categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service , Platform-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service.
It is one kind of computing and storage system or capacity that can be treated as a service. It can entrust by the user data ,software and computation over a network. Cloud comes from the cloud shape symbol or architecture.
The term ‘Cloud Computing’ is one of the most echoed buzzwords in the recent times’ technological expansion. Deliberately or accidently, you come across cloud storage and cloud computing in everyday life, provided that you are active in the online e-commerce domain. To be more specific, majority of people make use of various online video calling facilities like Skype or might regularly access emails for business transactions and also for personal use through Gmail or Yahoo! Here, you access the data or the resources which are lying on a cloud storage environment.
When it comes to web hosting "Cloud" means a service delivered from cluster and virtualized computer system, a network of computers in which "Processing Nodes (servers used to deliver CPU, RAM and other processing resources) are physically separated from "Storage Nodes" (the infrastructure of appliances used for data storage). Anything other use of the word "Cloud" in contacts of web hosting services is misleading.
Cloud computing is a technology that delivers many kinds of resources as services, mainly over the internet, while distributed computing is the concept of using a distributed system consisting of many self-governed nodes to solve a very large problem (that is usually difficult to be solved by a single computer). Cloud computing is basically a sales and distribution model for various types of resources over the internet, while distributed computing can be identified as a type of computing, which uses a group of machines to work as a single unit to solve a large scale problem. Distributed computing achieves this by breaking the problem up to simpler tasks, and assigning these tasks to individual nodes.
In simple words, cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs on the Internet instead of on your computer's hard drive. (The PCMag Encyclopedia defines it briefly as "hardware and software services from a single provider over the Internet.") Ultimately, "the cloud" is just a metaphor for the Internet.
