Grammarly alternative?

Hi guys, Grammarly is a really good tool as I believe it helps me write more effectively by fixing small typos. However, I am a master's student and I want the premium version of Grammarly to ace my research papers. Where I live right now, the premium is coming out to be really expensive. Do you have any alternative suggestions? Or a way by which I can the premium at a discount or something? Help will be appreciated, thanks!

 

Can't you just figure those things out without any assistance from some AI? Relying on them will make your brain lazy. And the longer you rely on them, the lazier it'll become.

 

Using language tools as an aid is fine in my book, but RELYING on them can be a DISASTER.

Case in point. If you RELY on a spelling checker the following sentence is likely to in whole or in part PASS as good spelling.

 

GPS's are useful, but some drivers feel completely lost (even within their own city or town) if they stop working. Many years ago, I used to have an internal map in my head and could find my way around the city I used to lived in without any problems. If I go there today I will be completely lost. Relying on a GPS will make most drivers directionally challenged, not the other way around.

 

I appreciate your answers and also the “policing”. But here’s the thing; my career doesn’t really require me to be extremely good at knowing english. English isn’t even my first language. I just need it so I can communicate in the corporate scenario. Like I said, tools like grammarly will help me with my research papers (and there are a lot of them!). If you have suggestions please drop them, if you don’t, be civil at least. Maybe use grammarly premium so it can give you some “polite tone” suggestions

 

People have died because they used GPS. Before I moved 6 years ago I had to specifically tell customers NOT to use GPS because it would direct them down a dirt road with mud holes 2 FEET deep instead of down a PAVED road to my shop which was located in a city of about a MILLION people.

I have never used GPS. You can dump me anywhere in the U.S. and I can find my way around without a map. I could find addresses even BEFORE it was common to have named streets and BEFORE it was common to have house numbers. Many times I find it harder now to find addresses than before house numbers were common.

For example, when a city has NORTH addresses SOUTH of town as well as SOUTH addresses NORTH of town, finding such addresses will drive you nuts. And such towns DO exist!

As for @Kim Hoseok he has a very valid reason for NEEDING to use any language aid available. English writing is hard for English speakers and has to be near impossible for most non-native writers. As for ideas to help him, I have none, but wish him all of the luck in the world in his endeavors.

 

Poor baby, perhaps a nice warm bottle is needed? Maybe if you are this sensitive, stay off of the internet?

Well, firstly, I would recommend using English grammar on your own. Secondly, I use microsoft word which is really nice in tracking down grammar mistakes and typos.

I know that there are some services which are the same as grammarly, however grammarly, in my opinion is the best option for copywriters, especially for those who just entered copywriting activity.
