    I wondered if anyone can advise me what the best and most cost effective payment gateways are? PayPal has been recommended but just wondered what others think?

    Stripe is good for UK (I use it on a couple of my sites). Their fees aren't the best though but they provide a quality service.

    Apart from Paypal which other gateways have you considered?
    Does your bank have a gateway?

    Depends on several different factors. First, what country are you in? Overall, I do like PayPal and that has always been the payment gateway of my choice (for mostly US traffic). I've also really come to like the Coinbase gateway if you're looking to accept crypto.

    Some of the cost-effective payment gateways apart from PayPal are WorldPay, CC Avenue, or Amazon Pay. I suggested these because you’re looking for one specifically in the UK.

    I would highly recommend you to draw a comparison among the ones you’re considering. For instance, check other aspects like ease of integration, low TDR, security and PCI DSS compliance, fraud protection, and support for adaptive payments. You should go with an option that fulfills these requirements.
