Can you have good PR and still be in sandbox?

I have a site with PR7

I have concentrated on many high quality inbound links with specific anchor text. The site has a definite theme. The 2 terms I have spent a ton of money and time purchasing are void when using tools like shoemoney serps tool. For the life of me, I do not understand it. I have had people review my site and claim it rates high in SEO standards. Am I dealing with a sandbox issue?

Any ideas?

 

Yes, PR is irrelevant to the trust of your domain (ie, age, trust of inbounds, etc) when the terms are competitive.

 

It happens all the time.

 

So where do I begin? How do I confirm and try to remedy?

Patience for age or really trusted inbounds (BBC, NYT, Washington Post, New Scientist, etc).

 

I do believe I have great inbounds. How would I find out if the domain has had trouble in the past? I have ha dit live for 3-4 years. Is there a way to ask Google what the status is?

 

you can always look on archive.org to see what the website was like before... i'm guessing it's a competitive term so keep building links from aged authority websites.. not much else you can do..
