What does mean "premium domain name"? Who decides what is "premium" name, what are the criteria?

Premium domains are high-value domains that have the potential to become popular web addresses with strong branding opportunities. ... They may come with a significantly higher domain registration price, and in some cases, they may have a higher domain renewal and transfer cost as well.

OK, I understand what does imply word "premium", thanks for book definition anyway. My question was who decided that your domain name was premium one, and how, what were the criteria? What is its renewal/transfer price, is it regular price, or significantly higher, as you hint?

The price is defined by Namecheap. When We decided to sell it and listed it in the Namecheap marketplace they consider it as a premium domain name and you can check it on their marketplace. The domain renewal will be normal as for the .COM extension.

I have checked, and I don't see it is "Premium" anywhere in that listing; can you show me where it is labeled as "Premium", please:

    NameCheap-tasteblogging.jpg

I highly doubt it! I have never heard of that, and it makes no sense! NameCheap, or any other domain market, may suggest the price; but the actual asking price is ultimately defined by the seller.

So, according to that one criterion, it's not "Premium", correct?

Okay, But have you checked it on other sites like GoDaddy. Please check this with their domain appraisal tool. I think there we don't allow to add our own price. Check it here:- https://in.godaddy.com/domain-value...ail=1&tmskey=&domainToCheck=tasteblogging.com

It's a 6 month's old 13 letter domain with no metrics, there is nothing premium about it, I doubt it's worth the reg fee.

No, I have not checked GoDaddy, you told me to check listing on NameSilo.

Appraisal tools are one thing; marketplace is quite another thing, I really cannot bother with explaining the difference, I believe it should be a common sense to know the difference.

NameCheap or GoDaddy can tell you that your domain is worth 5 $ or 5,000,000 $. But what price will you ask for, it is your decision, not theirs.

Exactly my opinion, but it is funny how people easily classify their own domain as "Premium"... :D
