There's still quite a few unknowns about the virus, one of the big ones is if people get immunity to it and how long that immunity lasts for. If that immunity is very short it puts into doubt if any vaccine will be viable

The "world" will only slightly be affected by the virus, if at all. "Humankind" will be affected by the virus, but will undoubtedly survive. Humans did not go extinct during the bubonic plague and had no medical help then, of course, so surviving a far less lethal virus like coronavirus with modern medicine will not be a problem for our species. And keep in mind, the overall population survival rate for coronavirus is 99% or even higher.

Of course we will. Wearing a mask and following the advice of the health professionals will help :)

Only a pea brain would believe that the world will not survive this RELATIVELY HARMLESS virus.

In fact, this world has already out survived your journey on DP.

Edit: Not trying to insult peas.

We have a global pandemic here on earth every 100 years or so. Humans have survived them all so far.
According to Wikipedia as of March 2020 the world population is 7,800,000,000 people.
According to Worldometer as of August 20, 2020 deaths from covid are 791,034.

The human race will not be wiped out by this.

World will definitely survive, I don't think there is absolutely any danger regarding virus killing off society. Like, not even 1%. Now, probable global economy crash, unemployment and similar stuff that are product of this pandemic will mostly kill off way more people than virus itself.

The world will definitely survive without us (if that's what you mean). But I'm sure we humans will survive this virus but there will be big changes to our usual lives from here on out as the virus will linger here forever as ordinary flu and vaccines will only work for a certain time before we are forced to take one again.
