Do You Use Directories?

Most of the sites that had ‘web directory’ lists are either gone or abandoned and never get updated, However, if you search for business directories plenty of recommendations by others ‘generally seo companies’.

I`m not convinced that directories are still relevant today in terms of the global web. I imagine the directories for smaller communities would work fine, because they collect all the needed resources in one place. But for SEO I think that directories are obsolete.

 

I think for new sites some SEO companies are using to help a little but for established sites i would agree with above.

I think the results speak for themselves. I have personally listed on business directories and saw my SERP improve!

In SEO it's about trial and error since we don't know 100% how Google's algorithm is, so I would suggest for people who are unsure of certain tactics to try it and measure the results.

 

I have used website directories before to promote an educational website. All of them were free directories. These even let me submit the website description. They became permanent links surrounded by other similar links. Directories are awesome, and I would run one if I knew how. I say yes to website directories. I like forums that have directories of member sites.

 

Used a couple of paid ones but didn't see a lot of effect.

 

Listed in web directories is still useful for SEO.

 

We can trust only premium directories in which they are reputable and active website. Never rely on low DA directory sites as they will expired sooner or later.

I'm still utilising directories to list my local products, and I suggest that local businesses likewise utilise directories to advertise.

 

i've used directories a few times, and my advice is - go and purchase the premium account on your given directory, if you can. in this case you can actually be sure that people who use this directory will see your company, since a premium account usually includes such features as paid promotion, etc. otherwise there's really not much of a point in using it

 

I've worked with several time with Directory even 2 weeks ago I've done some law related submission for my client, It works good still today.

They are still relevant, make sure to choose the active ones.

 

I haven't used directories for a couple of years now. I came to the conclusion that this is a pointless waste of resources.
