Our backgrounds are similar but I made it myself, if you are not comfortable with it. Alright, I'll use another background concept, I'm sorry.

 

I honestly don't know what he/she is moaning about. It's just a flipping white background not the logo

 

Change 75 usd to 1000 usd prize and you will get much more creativity we do this in our free time contests...

in western europe medium salary 2500 usd ,in eastern europe around 1000 usd / month per person ,avg salary in europe 1750 usd
1750 usd / 30 days = 58.33 usd / day
It costs someone in Europe to stay online around 2.43 usd / hour... else he can do construction work or something else...
On that logo i spent 1 hour even if poor quality to you, it cost me 2.43 usd just to keep computer on ...

Raise the prizes or you will get "low quality" do to inflation / salary and living costs increase around the world...hope all contest holders will see this...

Spy, if you look at the contests here, we hold the highest paying contests. there are people here doing this full time and making really good money. If we gave you $10,000 it would not change your design. Designs are very subjective and creativity does not increase with pay.. If this is not for you, I understand nobody is making you do this.

First, don't be so hard on yourself.. I never said your design was poor quality. I just said it's not what we are looking for. Now lets analyze it. You took the star trek logo or a variation of your avatar, wrote 3 simple words in Time font next to it and put it on a black background. If this took you an hour, you are in the wrong business but lets take your scenario.
Assuming you are in europe and earn $10 an hour, If it takes you 1 hour to design a logo and you receive $75 as the winner, you are making 750% more then you do anywhere else.

If you look at some of the entries here, they are EXCELLENT. Unique, fun and creative. Almost every designer incorporated the A&W in the logo in some sort (your design was the only one that did not).
Again, don't be so hard on yourself..
My advice: Don't post poor designs because you think the pay is not there, it will give you a bad reputation. Better to not post at all then to post a bad design because you don't want to put in the effort.
Keep following the designers here.. There are some excellent designers here and practice, practice, practice... Even if you win 1 contest a day here for $30, in a month you can make some decent money.

Contest will close in approximately 12 hours. Just as quick point of reference, we've had some excellent submissions both here and via DP.
Client has shown preference to the rounder/softer original designs as opposed to the sharp edged designs. And again, main part is for it to be original.
