Will my domain name hurt the SEO and traffic for my website? I am currently using Heroku to host my website my domain name looks like this https://asteroidcollision.herokuapp.com/. I don't know whether google likes unrelated things in their searches because I have the .herokuapp in my link. I want to maximize my SEO ranking and make sure google won't downgrade me. Sorry for linking my website, just using it as an example.

This is a subdomain. Very very rarely will you see google listing a subdomain in search results, that too from some free domain/hosting provider...

That's not need but only do if that's necessary for your niche and what issue you are facing by the way.

Thanks. It is interesting to hear about the Google stuff. I have read many place that the algorithms that Google and other search engines use (do other really matter at this point?) change often and as they do what might have worked 5 years ago might or might not today....and so on.
