Is backlinks from blogs still relevant to this day? what i mean, is it still a good idea commenting on blog posts and so on today?

 

Yes, you can get links by commenting on blogs but never spam. Don't comment for the sake of commenting. Instead you should comment to add value to the ongoing discussion or the topic discussed in the blog, ask relevant question (if you have) or add value to the ongoing discussion.
Make sure the blogs are from the same niche as yours and have authority. Posting on low quality sites can harm your rankings. Prefer websites with high domain authority and where comments are moderated.
But instead of getting links form blog comment, if you manage to post a high quality relevant post and get relevant link from within the blog/article, It will be thousands times better. Google value links from within the content more than comment links.

 

I would Agree with @seocorporation, Yes it a great way to have quality backlinks, But only if your comment has a 100% relevancy to each and every point.

Building back-links are still a way to gain traction for your blog. Aim for relevant back-links from sites that Google considers valuable.

 

Do not spam comments, try link exchange.

 

Moderators will see if you're commenting for the purpose of link or to bring value. if it's both, they will remove link sometimes to have your comment live. Either way, blog owners had enough I guess. Top ones won't even look at your comment if you leave a link! Simple.

 

Always do relevant discussion according to blog post topic. Helpful discussion rewards the likes and pleasant reply is make you comment index in search engine. You can get valuable back-link.

 

They are valuable and sometimes (very rare) even dofollow. But you should answer the question or discuss the article, not post random "great article please check the best offer in our world placed at my website" It will not be approved if comments are moderated. Or it will only spoil the blog you comment in.

 

Of course, relevant and very effective! My project is being promoted by active link builders, and platforms that provide good link weight are usually blogs and forums. But do not neglect the quality of posts. If you spam, your site will sink to the bottom - it's checked!

 

If blogs are relevant and links are dofollow... of course.
