Everyone has a different opinion because it varies by industry and needs. In short, the best way to decide is to make a checklist so you can compare features you need for all the platforms.

1 or 2 products --> try landing pages

Static items, i.e. those that won't change in a year or more --> try static pages, e.g. Jekyll or Hugo. They load faster and are less prone to hacking.

Other than those you may need a real e-commerce CMS.

If you want to build a multi-vendor store you can try wordpress and easy digital downloads.

I am comfortable with it and suggest all my contacts too. It's really easy and very professional.

You can sell digital products with it, as well as physical products.

The best thing is you won't require any paid theme for this, it works with every theme. But I prefer Astra and Elementor page builder, as both are free. It reduces the cost of the site.

If you try and test it, you may require some paid Easy Digital Downloads add-ons, I've few, I can help you.

In that case please feel free to ask, I'll be happy to assist you.

    Hi,

For ecommerce, i use Shopify, it is in my opinion the best and most completed ecommerce plateform, I use Plak theme, which is fast and converts well, after about 5 months of selling t-shirts in POD, i could make considerable profits.

    Good luck

The thing about shopify i don't like is that you have to pay a pretty penny a month, and its not open source. I do think its great for dropship but not for selling your products.

Every business, either online or offline requires an investment and monthly fees.

29$/month for shopify plan is not something big, you'll benefit from free lifetime support, i don't consider these fees as an investment and not as a waste of money, I paid for Plak theme 295$, but i benefit from free support and free lifetime updates, Shopify + the paid theme helped me making more than 2000$ profit per month.

Remeber that you'll get what you have paid for ;) Good luck :)

Any advantage for shopify over magento for eCommerce hosting? I heard about shopify but not much familiar with it.

Administered and setup magento servers, but shopify looks not like a standalone software for download, rather it seems an online option to build eCommerce stores as well.

Really depends on what features are important to you. Also, it depends on the products you're selling. Will you be selling high risk products such as CBD hemp oil, muscle supplements, supplements and nutraceuticals, water bongs, vape products. You'll also need payment processing. We recommend 3dCart. We can get you hooked up for free.

The most flexible is Bigcommerce, Volusion, Word Press, WooCommerce, 3dCart. They are more flexible because they do not pin hole you into using a specific payment processor. You want to be able to pick your own payments processor. We are a 3dCart partner and can get you hooked up with payments and a website.

Everyone has own opinion. You need to do R&D for your business and then come to any conclusion. Just check the businesses who already doing the same thing as you.

If you are creating an E-commerce store then I will recommend Shopify. You will need the help of a good software development company. Shopify also has an impact on organic results. They have some paid plugin but those are very helpful in managing your website data.

    Shopify is highly recommended.✌✌

If you don't know any of these CMS, then, I guess, there is no difference which one you will have to learn. Wordpress + Woocommerce is the most simple but also slowest solution ( I mean site performance). With other open source systems, like Opencart or Magento you might stuck where paid plugins or professional help will be required. Don't know anything about commercial platforms like Shopify. PrestaShop is also very popular, you should check it out.
