I am working as a search engine specialist and running few own online resources. Originally from eastern Europe I spent last 5 years living digital nomad lifestyle. What countries are good for digital nomads who wants to settle down and apply for residency or even citizenship? What benefits will I get beside the voting right?

I don't know about residency and citizenship but I'd be looking at Thailand & Argentina. The cost of living is low, the climate is great, no issues getting good internet, and therefore great for freelancers. My last trip to Thailand, the town we stayed in was popular with Russians. The hotel apologised that their English was bad, they're better at Russian. My only issue with moving there permanently is that I'd never blend in, I'd always be an outsider.

How long had you stayed there? Was there any problems with documents?

I'm not from the US, sorry, and even if I was you'd have to specify NY versus Missouri because I'm sure your cost of living varies greatly.

Thai food is incredible too. I have friends living there and their every other FB post is about how great the food was at some new restaurant they went to.

Yes, Thailand is a good place to live. The climate is fantastic. Thai people are very open minded. The Population is very less and its non polluting area. The services are very cheap and best in the city. The culture fest is really mind blowing.

My two cents: choose a country with good medical care.
