    SEMRush is quite nice.

You might want to check out Austin Allred's practical guide to SEO. He's the founder of Lambda School and a bit of a growth guru.

Hi @heliius before you buy paid tools, try free tools. there are a lot of tools out there that you can utilize. You can grab the trial version for 1 month, if it's worth it for you then go for it but if now try some others. Give it a try using Spyfu, you can ask for a refund if things won't work well for you.

When people ask me what SEO tools I use, I say my brain and Google.
Your brain/knowledge of the subject is the most important tool. The only other tool you need is Google.
3rd party tools come and go, there's seriously nothing you can't figure out using Google and web browser.
Most 3rd party tools update slow as well, and can provide inaccurate data.
The only thing you really need, is a basic keyword volume checker, and a page and domain authority check (the Moz browser app works well for this).

That being said, my favorites are Google, Google webmaster tools, Google trends and Google analytics.
    Everything else is second tier.

Writing high-quality and original content on websites with good reputation and getting a backlink from those websites/blogs to your website is known as guest blogging. It is a very good SEO strategy. Different websites/blogs have their own requirements for guest-blogging, so get in touch with the administrators of the websites you're looking to write for and find out about their terms and conditions.

Best tool: your brain. Tools are only as good as the person using them. Most of the tools (such as AHRefs, Majestic, Moz, Screaming Frog etc.) are handy but you will find data anomalies between all of them. 90% of what they give you is either raw data that must be interpreted or AI (sort of) opinion. I use a load of online SEO tools but I take everything they offer with a grain of salt. Comparing the data between these tools is good for spotting trends or problems.

Google Search Console is good but, again, they only give you up to 1,000 results on most available data so it doesn't help much on deep dives into really large websites with a goal of consolidating or eliminating low traffic pages. Weblogs are good. Weblogs represent true data, not a JS snippet or pixel that may or may not trigger when a page is visited. It usually takes a combination of these SEO tools, weblogs, good knowledge of how to use Google power search operators, and good old fashioned experience to reach the right conclusions on "next SEO steps" for any website.
