I can't foresee anything. It's so difficult to predict it.
    But i've picked Gamification..

Thank you, you can also pick in this case, what would you like to have in a new modern social media.
Gamification is cool, just earning point for commenting, sharing, gettin reactions and earn or collect trophies

Hi, thanks, please vote the poll if you like it. Interesting, gamification too and cheap ads, ... very good, I spent 250 pounds for a social media campaign just getting a pretty decent result. But i realized that for a bigger campaign it is still probably more convenient TV ads!!

The social media niche is over saturated as it is. Between FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and a couple other sites I don't have time (or desire) left for anything else. Getting points based upon activity would not interest me either. Just not worth my time. Sorry, I wish I could post a more encouraging post, but I don't think anyone is interested in another social media site. Not me, for sure.

Instead do you know what I wanna do? Try to find something else and definitely forget about FB, Twitter and Instagram... because of DATA MINING!
So, do you like the behavours of the social media right now?

    The list is too limited

    upload_2019-10-7_11-9-34.png

    1. better design as a "trend"? Maybe a completely different user experience but for it to be a trend it would require the main players to adopt this and currently the main social media sites have different ux so it's unlikely they'll follow a "trend"
    2. How very myspace
    3. I'm not sure how this could be a "trend"
    4. Ad price as a "trend"? Most users don't advertise so even if this becomes a "trend" it would be incredibly lame as it would drive more (low quality) advertising to keep the profit line the same and users won't like that.
    5. This has been happening for years on less popular sites

Ad price relates to marketers what does that have to do with the social media experience?

I'd have thought that as the price goes down the volume will go up and that will definitely affect the user's experience.

The ad price would increase not decrease as there will be more advertisers competing for the space. I also fail to understand how what advertiser's are paying affects users. They will be seeing ads regardless. It's like saying Google users are negatively affected when Adword's advertisers are paying more for their ads. They're still seeing the same ads.

Follow TikTok. That's the next wave I believe. Short clips, millions of views. The ads will become short (even shorter than what they are now on YT) and to the point.

While they are clunky and not so user friendly at the moment, I think that decentralized, blockchain / cryptocurrency based social media platforms will play a big role in the future. Testbeds for this so far have been platforms like Steemit, Dtube and DLive.

It will also be interesting to see how Block.one's Voice.com platform fares, after they sunk 30 million dollars into acquiring the domain name alone.

That writeet does not interests me. The domain itself is not telling anything what the website is about.
    For example,
facebook, tells you that its some sort of album of pictures of people.
Twitter, says that one can write something small and quick, like a bird chirp (that is the meaning of that word)
LinkedIn, something about building connections, linking with people.
Instagram, something instant, something like telegram.

WriteET says, may be a website where people talk about aliens...
Reward feature also does not interests me...
I am so sorry about discouraging you, but that is not my intention.

Also, design doesn't concerns me when using a social network. Ease of use is way more important.
All social networks I use suck in that area...

By the way, a company like google ended up shutting down 2 of its social networks.

Try something in a niche, that still has a chance. Don't go "general, open for all..."

Thanks (but writeet is not mine :) ), about title I think it means like Reddit, Writeet
But interesting point of view. I think so,... user experience is missing in almost every social media

I've only found twitter somewhat user friendly, but even that is changing now, specially on mobiles...

I think the next generation of the social media trend will be user data privacy and adapted dynamic page that adapts to the user usage type behavior and present the required feed only.

Or maybe the trend of next generation of social media will be no social media..?

Naaah, just joking. Gamification should be the thing. Have you seen the Black Mirror episode where the people were rated through one app and got their social rates depending on what they were doing? Almost the same is happening in China already.
