IMO, 3-4 keywords per 700 words should be good enough for SEO.

It should be 3% to 5% for an article.
It should be 4% to 6% for website content.

I really think that the optimal density is dependent on different things. A 3% density would be an ideal percentage to keep you under control but if the content is of quality and not stuffed with keywords you will be fine even with 6% . Make sure the keyword is included in the title, URL and first paragraph of your content

There is no ideal percentage but most commonly recommended percentage are 1% to 3%.
Formula to have rough calculation:- (Number of keywords/ Total number of words) * 100
Most important thing to remember is to have a good keyword density percentage which looks "NATURAL" and not stuffed.

Forget about density. Just write good copy with your keyword(s) fitting in where they sound good when you read the text aloud. Also, be sure to include various synonyms for your keyword(s).

there is no golden rule for it. But 0.5-1.5% should be ideal. If you use less than that then you wont rank for that keyword. And if you use more than the limit then you are offending your users.

    Hi,
Its totally depends on your content length. normally in 500-600 words of content, you can set 3-4 keywords density and same as in 800-1000 words of content you can set 4-5 keyword density.

Keyword density is 1990s SEO. Do not use it today.

If you really want to rank your sites study how the big guys do it. I'm talking about websites like Wikipedia or PornHub. Study them. You will learn more than asking here.
