I was scammed by Pingpipe

Your email address and other information can be consulted freely and free of charge by making a query when you are the owner or contact of a domain name. This enables Pingpipe hosting service, to take advantage of having your data and to know what domain you own, to contact you and sell you a service that you do not need, they try to convince you to pay for a service they can not give you, etc. They tell you that your domain is about to expire and that is not true, it is only to invite you to contract the renewal with them. Do not let yourself be cheated by this hosting service, which guarantees that you will be in the top positions of Google, being one of all the tricks that this company does in order to acquire a customer, swindle and keep it for life.

It's called a proforma scam and it's illegal in many countries.
This particular scam has been around for at least as long as I've had websites - 20 years.

Every business owner should validate every invoice and every claim made in a sales call to them. I'm sorry you got scammed, I hope the experience has made you a bit sharper about how you run your business.

You know, this type of scam existed long before the Internet. In the 1980's (and well before that, I have been told) we would get paper invoices in the mail from companies claiming we had signed up with them for some service and owed them money. It was always a low enough number that some managers would just put it through to A/P and be done with it (not worth the time looking into its validity, etc.) But it would still be hundreds of dollars, if the manager was not properly trained and Finance did not question it.

OP: you have the wrong company. Your accusations are 100% false.
    1) PingPipe does not sell services to people that they tell us they don't need.
    2) We do contact random people telling them that their domains are about to expire and try to sell them products.
    3) We do not make any "guarantees that you will be in the top positions of Google".
    4) We do not use "tricks...in order to acquire a customer"

If any client has a concern, question, or problem all they need to do is enter a support ticket and our team assists them.

    Your accusations are 100% false.

I can't believe there is another company called "pingpipe"...
Contacting random people is called spamming and the garbage you try and sell them is just a massive scam.

That was a typo in the point about contacting random people.

We do NOT contact random people telling them that their domains are about to expire.

    These are the facts:
    1) PingPipe does NOT sell services to people that they tell us they don't need.
    2) We do NOT contact random people telling them that their domains are about to expire and try to sell them products.
** we have not actively sold domain registration services in almost 5 years
    3) We do NOT make ANY "guarantees that you will be in the top positions of Google".
** we do NOT offer SEO services, and never have.
    4) We do not use "tricks...in order to acquire a customer"

It sounds like OP had a problem with a domain registration and SEO service somewhere.
For the past almost 5 years we have not actively sold domain registrations.
Also, O.P. has a problem with SEO services, and we do not sell SEO services.

Anyone can maliciously accuse anyone of anything.
OP is either mistaken or is being malicious.

Bill Gorman's Pingpipe site makes fun of people who say they ensure your presence on the Internet until you give them your website. These are the most frequent traps of this hosting service. Pingpipe is not cheap or has quality, therefore, other accommodations are recommended.
