Can't Block Russian Spammers Because Can't Write In Russian

    I get these messages, or notifications from some Russians, or at least I think they are, maybe Ukrainians, asking me to like pages, all of them with beautiful sexy women. I can't block them because I can't write their name in Russian.

    what can I do about this?? I get quite a few every day.

    well then they're always in that Notifications list I have to scroll thru,

    and they just come back the next day.

    • Maybe there’s a tool like HootSuite that can filter them out?
    • Or check your notifications more frequently so you don’t have to scroll so far?
    • Stop using facebook?

    They’re only notifications, if they were messages it would be a bigger problem. Fake and spam accounts are a problem on all social media sites.

    that's all Facebook has, no 'Report Spam' or whatever? Seems a pretty weak handling of our privacy.

    I think that's almost a given for a company that allowed Cambridge Analytica to happen, right?

    Facebook's moderation tools for groups and pages are ridiculously weak. They've had a decade to see what forum and blog owners need to run their sites and build it into Facebook but they've given their group and page admins none of the tools they need.

    If you choose to copy and paste the Russian language and paste to a translator?
    Similarly, you can write in English and use the translator to convert to Russian or Ukraine?
    I do this regularly with certain languages - Chinese, Italian and others occasionally. Always get compliments from Chinese reading my converted English on the quality of my Chinese!!
    I use Chrome and the Google translator.
    There is also a very good translator incorporated into the browser "Vivaldi".
    If it is just language then the translators mentioned do an excellent job.
    Take a while to get to be proficient with them - they are not exactly intuitive but they are easy enough to learn without going to college about it all.......

    When you go to the account's profile, in the menu with 3 dots, there is an option to block or report the accounts.
