I don't know what niche should my blog be about?!?

Hello webmasters from around the world,

I built a blog and I don't know what niche to write about.
I want to write about something I know like digital marketing, coding or personal development.
But I can't because all these topics have been covered.
I want to build a useful website that can help people.

What can I do to do that?

For sure, all these topics are quite popular, but you could try to attract visitors providing them with very interesting content, some fresh ideas and so on. Find some aspects of these topics and try to show them from another point of view. You can also analyze your competitors and think about the things you could do better.

Don`t be afraid that there are too much those who write about all that, it just means that it is popular and interesting for people.

Thank you for your reply it was helpful. So you mean I can compete on these popular topics? Can you tell me how you go about it? How you choose a niche?

Of course, you should write about something that is interesting for you, otherwise it would be boring both for you and your readers. The idea is that you collect and process as much information, as possible, and then share it with your visitors. People would easily feel it if you would write articles "just for content".

So, the first step is to find the sphere that is interesting for you. Then, you can just start reading about it and soon you will understand, which aspects are undervalued and need to be covered. For example, if you see that it is quite difficult to find information on particular specific question, you can make your own research. It would give value for your visitors.

That is true Spartan14, people do notice passion and respect it when they see it. It is best to write about something which clearly shows that you know your stuff and enjoy sharing with us.

What is your passion? Just start writing on your passion. You will automatically contribute more with the topic that really interests you. If you are passionate about cars, you can start writing on different car companies and models or if you are passionate about cooking, you can create articles on recipes or tips to improve recipes.

I had the same issue when I started to build my website, and I have looked for website niche that can be profitable at the future, so I connected to the community that calls "publisher's pick" and they solved all my concern about servers and marketing

Niche depends on what your goal is. Are you looking for a quick buck, flip a website, or a long term profitable blog?

As above stated, the best blogs are those you have a passion for.

Some niches that never go out are self help, finances, weight loss, fitness, SEO. These are crowded and not instant money makers but over time can create a nice passive income. However, keep them fresh with new updated information on a regular basis.

If you are looking for a quick buck, jump on the current trends. (Example: CBD, weed, etc.) The problem with current trends is that it is all in the timing of when to get and getting out quick enough.

Start with something you love writing about! As long as your content is unique and your bring something new to the table you will do just fine! It takes years for a blog to get popular, so find something you enjoy writing about.

Research by Smart Insights reveals that people are now spending more time on mobile devices. Make your blog mobile-friendly and responsive to ensure you create a pleasurable reading experience for your audience and reap low-hanging SEO fruits.
You need to research more before starting a blog, In essence, you go away, collate informative data, and then arrange it logically into an action list. That’s what research is. The information provided by Research provides you a direction, a steer, a path. When you are thinking about getting your blog underway from scratch, or even from a long period of inactivity, you need some research.

There is no way to answer that concisely in a 20 word or less answer. Look at these points:
    • Informs you what your potential competitors are doing
    • Offers ideas on what you could try
    • Provides clues as to what really works and what really doesn’t*
    • Presents you an idea on how to layout your work
    • Identifies what language to use with your audience
    • Points to a profile of a typical member of your target audience
    • Alludes to gaps in the market
    • Outlines strategies you should avoid by cutting the corner on silly mistakes

Hi guys. I started a site about advice for web developers like me who are just starting out.
To be honest I don't have a lot to say, nothing to add to the table.
This is why I want to work on a website and not a blog.
Do you guys have any good idea for a web app?

Just wanted to add having a blog with your website always helps your website get indexed as well as traffic.

So do both start with a blog and branch off

You build a blog and don't know what the blog should be about? Then you don't have a blog.
Stop wasting your time on setting up scripts without a plan.
Do you even want to blog?
You should have a niche first. Then determine if you want to blog, video blog, etc. Idea before execution my friend.

App development seems to be the norm these days because there's simply no area of our daily lives that cannot be improved by an app. And with so many shitty apps both in the Andriod and IOS stores, getting a good idea of developing an app is so easy. You can go through the plethora of Apps and see their limitations, epic fails and more; then look at ways you can improve them. All the best and I'm looking forward to downloading an improved version of any of the popular app i currently use.
