I'm curious about what's your main problem right now creating your "ideal business".
I asked this question in a class and I realised that there are so many other things than the usual "I don't get traffic" or "No one buys my stuff"! :D

I've put in the poll the most common struggles for online entrepreneurs, but feel free to add new things.

I've faced specific challenges with Facebook. If their targeting tools are as accurate as implied, then I have (with a variety of businesses) always had success at driving traffic. What I have noticed, however, is that Facebook traffic has a much lower propensity to convert than traffic from almost any other source. Now why do you think this might be? Are most of the clicks accidental? I have not yet found the answer myself.

Totally agree with you mate! If you want traffic, you simply buy it. The problem is about working on it and get back your investment.

For example, which other channels gave you more results than Facebook?

Hey there! Really just about anything. For example, free classifieds have always given me a much better conversion rate than Facebook as have solo ads (two of my favorite methods to build a business). Even PPC, which I rarely use any more, has better conversion than Facebook and still a better ROI. I don't understand why this is. Hoping someone can help me figure it out at some point or another. My hypothesis is that it is directly related to the casual nature of Facebook....i.e., folks don't go there specifically looking to buy something. Facebook is almost escapism or indulgence for most people - not commerce.

    Frankly, it's always about conversions...always.
Getting traffic is nothing compared to that. You find a digital community and promote your products and services to that community. It's simple.
The question is whether they would "buy" your message.

It depends on a lot of variables.
Facebook ads work way better if you give them at least 1 week of testing. After that period of time, you'll see your costs dropping and you get more results.
But it also depends on using cold traffic instead or warm ones, not using lookalike audience, aiming at the wrong people... Every case is different with Facebook ads and testing is the only way to figure out what doesn't work.

If you want, share your analytics so we can understand a little better what's going on there and help you.

I prefer to think it's more about how much help did you give to others and the quality of your help.
Getting traffic and selling should be a second step of the process. All starts with tough work, helping people for free and create a community that trusts you and recognises your value.

Back to Facebook ads, one of the wrongest myths is that you can promote your service to strangers, and then blame them cause they don't want to buy. They don't buy mostly cause you never proved yourself before.

Getting traffic to your website is one of the toughest thing in online marketing. And once you start getting the traffic then comes user engagement and conversion. Overall, online marketing is not an easy thing. You need to work really hard at every step.

I don't think getting traffic is your main problem. If you have the necessary skills, you do the right things and you're consistent you'll definitely have traffic

The main struggle is getting a new project from the ground, i.e. getting enough traffic to get the ball rolling. Once that has been achieved, everything becomes easy.

My struggle right now is trying to find the right market to service. I am digital savvy and would like to help start marketing campaigns for those in the Therapist field, but I am wondering what restrictions they might have to marketing themselves online. Would you be able to provide any in sight on this?

I'm having the most struggle with outreach and link building. This is by far the most demanding part of digital marketing, at least from my perspective.

Agreed, the most difficult part is to keep the traffic constantly. That's the problem.
