How long will it take me to regain traffic?

    Hello!

I started my blog on blogspot five years ago, and I wanted to purchase a domain to have a more professional website. However, someone already owned a domain with my blog's name, but wasn't using the domain. I kept the blogspot site until the domain was available or for sale. The blogspot blog had 100 to 200 visitors per day from 2016 to May 2017, then my traffic fell off the wagon. I went from around 200 visitors per day to 30 visitors if I was lucky.

Three months ago, I finally purchased the domain after the previous owner did not renew it. Everything transferred fine from blogspot to Wordpress. I redirected links at the blogspot site to the current site.

How long will it take me to regain traffic? The new site has been online for three months. I am building links at sites in the same niche. I normally get 20 visitors per day right now.

Are you saying that your traffic fell during you were using blogspot?

It sounds like that your site was penalized.

I don't think it was penalized. I did not pay for any traffic or gimmicks. I built legitimate links at sites under the same niche. A few bloggers in the same niche recommended my site and the recommendation boosted my traffic. I don't have any strikes or violations on my Google accounts.

I don't know the different types of links that you may be referring to. I can tell you this. I made links to my articles at related forums (I did not spam), my Facebook page, and Twitter page. Most of my traffic was organic during that time span. I did not pay for any links or traffic to my site.

Forum links and links from social media sites doesn't matter because they are no-follow ones. So, they doesn't have any effect in the SERP's.

If you or anyone have any advice or knowledge on the subject then that would be helpful. I have tried doing research and cannot find an answer to my question.

Well, I didn't understand the actual problem but in replies, I saw you are talking about traffic so there is no problem with the forum signatures and the social media links.
Nofollow links don't harm your website but more links from spammy websites or other niche websites can be.
You can see other threads here related link building in the forum.

My question is not about link building. I thank you for giving me information on link building. It will be helpful.

I need to know the answer for the question in the opening post.

The question is how long will it take me to regain traffic? My blog was originally on blogspot (Blogger) and I purchased a domain from a host provider.

Your site ranking fell while your were using blogspot. So, it has nothing to do with your site transferring to a new self hosted site.

Again, that is not the question. I am asking how long will it take me to regain traffic after transferring my site to a hosted site? Clearly my new site has a new domain and url so of course it is not going to rank.

It can take a few days or it may take years.

If that is not the question then why didn't you asked the question like this " How much time a website will take to regain the traffic after shifting to the new domain"?
Well, it takes some time and depends on what you are doing to gain traffic.

I explained I changed domains in the opening post. I assume people who could help would actually read the entire first post before replying.

Thank you for answering my question.
