New forum project: discourse like with PHP mySQL?

    Hello.

    I just registered now.

    I would like to make a new forum project.

    During my search I realized that I really like "discourse", but I do not have any knowledge of Ruby and I do not have time to learn.

    Right now I'm looking for platforms that can look like "discourse", but I just need to be able to do one of its functionalities, either out-of-the-box or with any available plugin. And that the design of the templates is not chaos.

    -> I only need the main page to have the function of being able to show in real time if there is a new topic or message.

    I would not care about any platform as long as the server base uses PHP and mySQL.

    So you're looking for a forum with ajax to load new topics at the top?
    What about the apps and desktop software?
    And it needs to be able to cater for different communities - or just the one?

    -> I don't know any.
    -> Only one community (with perhaps 30 subforums).

    lol, when I mentioned apps and desktop software I was meaning are you wanting to create those too, you know, to be like discourse.

    What does discourse do that you particularly like?
    That will be critical to finding the right forum package. There's 15 in this list: https://www.opensourcecms.com/forum-software/
    Are there any that are definitely out or potentially in?

    Only that. As it can be simple to develope it for any php-mysql board throught ajax as yo usaid. But i would like to know there are any kind of board with that function out-of-the-box.
