Recently, I have started receiving infractions at DP over small issues. I feel like I'm being deliberately targetted by ...someone. The latest infraction I received was for posting the topic "When is the next Google Pagerank update" in the Google forum. I received an infraction with the following comment: "USE THE SEARCH NEXT TIME DUMB BASS" I really do not think that I made such a huge mistake that I have to be humiliated like this by a mod who is anonymous to me. I actually posted the above mentioned topic in the forum because I could not get a relevant result while searching for it in Google. And suddenly I receive an infraction with the comment "USE THE SEARCH NEXT TIME DUMB BASS" I understand that DP is a very popular and respected forum, with thousands of members and some great revenue. But does that mean that you will humiliate your members by using such language over trivial issues. In fact, I do not understand why this is an issue at all. I did not know how to contact any administrator or moderator about this issue and hence I posted it in this forum. I hope I am not banned from DP for this.
Take it as a learning experience. Next time search for it before you ask. If you search that topic you will find your answer. This is done to keep people away from posting the same threads over and over again just to raise post count or whatever their intentions. But dont take it personally. I have a few myself.
Yeh, you're right. I meant rep..thanks. I took it personally because I've been receiving too many negative reps and infractions in the last few days - and I felt they were given over very trivial matters.
I get the opinion that ignorance isn't tolerated quite so much here. Its quite refreshing really that someone can moderate with common sense, and say things as they are "use the search next time dumbass" is to the point and quite funny really.....
There's nothing we can and will do about, unfortunately for you. Go anywhere in the world where there's a crowd of 40 thousand people and you'll find, guaranteed, that there's at least a 100 assholes. That's life. You can choose to be offended or to ignore it. Or to use it as feedback. Up to you. If someone is indeed low enough to deliberately follow you around and 'target' you, just remember how sad that would be and hence how much of a better person yu yourself are. That should be enough motivation for you. We have technical limitations that prevent abuse though so you can rest assured no one can do this to extreme lengths that risk your membership here.
Ohh since you meant red reputation... Use my same advice for that one. Dont even look at it if it bothers you. I know its hard sometimes but everyone here gets them. I myself have received numerous. Just got to blow it off and NEVER make a thread about it because you get those same assholes that will give you more red rep just because. But I will give you a green!

I have so much more to learn from DP! Got confused between red reps and infractions...though its true Ive got infractions this week...but these are the only 2 Infractions I've received yet. Hope they dissolve soon. And thank you so very much for your green Man I feel so much better now!!
You also have posted 2 of the most asked questions that have already been answered many times - When is the google update? - Why did I get a red rep? As they said, use the search (removed curse ) and see how many times that has been asked and you will see why people get a little pissed about it. Not a big deal at all, learn and move on... Great now u came to know truth we are one of 40k members why the hell Mods target us.In small forums only there will be lot of work this big one so Mods will have huge work load they dont/cant target any one here.When i was new i also had this myth but it is totally wroung.You can req Mods to close this thread if because u may get more reds if this type of treads are running.
