    Look for paid directory sites.

    And also look for Linkedin Content Publishing Platform. If you are looking for links then its one of the best way to earn them.

    Have you tried publishing to Medium and other sites that allow guest posts? Post on relevant niche sites. That's what I'd suggest.

    Does anyone here recall when you could post an article on EzineArticles and it would hit the first page of Google because of the power of the domain?

    If your sole purpose is to use the articles for SEO then publishing them on the usual article directories would be useless because Google devalued them years ago. If you're looking for traffic then I'd check out the sites using Alexa to find out which ones have the most visitors.

    On the other hand, if you'd like to get some quality link juice you could always contact site owners in the niche and ask them if they'd be interested in a guest post. Keep in mind though, the article would have to be of extremely good quality. But, SEO if much more competitive today, so it's smarter to concentrate on quality, rather than quantity.

    IMO google penalizes article directory backlinks,they also dont work anymore in bringing traffic and ranking of our site.I am not backlinks on them from long time but still i was able to rank.

    If you have bulk content then you can share content on guest post site , guest post is much better than article directory.
