Hello all, Anyone got any tips on promoting websites well especially play free games online websites.

I have a website which I just paid for a script off codecanyon and installed fully operational games site on a domain. I now been sharing it all over the place only had a few sign ups but want it to be big if that makes sense lol. It as daily challenges and XP Leveling up and I will be adding in a few days Roms and Emulators so members can play Nes and Mega drive and other console retro games on my site.

    Any tips would be awesome!

Try to offer something special to your visitors, like some bonuses in the game. It will attract some people to your site

You’re in the right direction, share share share on social media, it just takes time. Could even be a few years before it gets really big.

Make sure you have something unique to keep your viewers/subscribers coming back

Does your game have a backstory? Games with a backstory seem to do really well and keep the user hooked to the game. They keep coming back. Keep sharing on Social media and search for Affiliate apps that can run your game ad. It will help bring in more traffic in lesser time.

Maybe try out a few giveaways? Give members an incentive to join and play the games?

Also another approach would be to do game sponsorship? Be on the lookout for game developers and offer a sponsorship deal? Can be expensive but can be highly effective.

Twitter is huge in the gaming niche, so if you focus on one social media platform that should be the one.

You can post up to 60 times a day on Twitter AND repeat content without looking spammy.

Find the hashtags that gamers use. Post your like 10+ times per day, and join the conversation with the rest of your tweets. Get involved with gamers, chat with them without being too promotional and spammy. In the meantime keep a pinned tweet that links to your site and has the most engagement. More and more will flock to your site - social growth is exponential and builds on itself.

First of all, you should try to understand your audience a little better. It is really great that you're in a micro-niche, but you should ask yourself these questions:
    1) Who plays these games? Age, gender, interests, etc.
    2) How do you get to them? If your audience is nerdy millennials, for example, you could try Instagram (most there are millennials and you have great engagement), maybe even Tumblr, or some viral memes on 9gag with your watermark on it (are "90s childhood" memes still a thing?).
    3) Scale up whatever you're doing. After you get past trial and error on your channels, focus on the best ones. In the example above, if you find out that Instagram brings a lot of traffic just be more active, post more content, stories, etc.

This is the best you can do at the beginning: know who your audience is! Once you find out, go full yolo with SEO, social media, PPC if you have at least a small budget, try some viral videos/pictures/streams/whatever.

Nobody mentioned youtube, but it is a good place to start too. Record yourself playing the game and do commentary as you play. People love those types of videos. To take it even a step further, try to find something in your game that relates to a popular game or gamer and mention it some how in your title and commentary .E.g if there is a gamer called "gameaddict212", u can create a title to include his name. youtube might list your video as a related video to his. His followers might check you out for curiosity some might remain with you some might not.

Oh, one of my favorite subjects to answer :)

Let's talk about the basics, you can get to the point that you promote anything for free at first and then scale up and use paid endeavors to complement your organic exposure.

Sharing is good, but it needs to be shared on the right medium to the right people.

Gamer groups on FB, Instagram, Slack, etc would be a great place to start.

Ask people for feedback, run some gameplay videos on Youtube or Twitch, make people interested in learning more about your website, what it does, whatever.

Reviews could work also and prompt others to share their own experiences with your website, games, etc.

    Now, for SEO:

    1. Preliminary keyword research and the use of complementary tools such as Ubersuggest, hashtagify, etc.

    2. Write compelling content for the games, think of it as an online ASO - if the description makes no sense or is just too canned, people would not be reading it for long.

    3. Meta tags and page description.

    4. Fast loading website; can people play those games on mobile (mobile optimized)? That's what people are looking for most these days, my friend.

    5. SMO as mentioned above - drip some info about the emulators and such so people would be keen on playing the games in the first place.

Are people able to share a leaderboard on Facebook? Something that might attract the eye?

These are your top priorities, my friend.

Try posting in Google Plus in the communities group. There are lot of gamers converged in Google Plus.

That sounds awesome - I'd love to try! Definitely post on social media: Facebook, Twitter. If you get your website into the hands of the right people, before you know it your website will constantly be shared. Maybe get your website seen by a video game influencer (Markiplier by YouTube?), they own a lot of credibility which will drive your website.
