    hello guys,
    do you know what is the value of the backlink from the website in another language?
    i have a travel blog (English), backlink is coming from a good travel-related Russian website. Anchor text is Russian too.

    If it's an authority site, it's good no matter what language. Watch for it in Google Webmaster tools if it comes up as a manual action. Maybe you have admirers in a nother country.

    Every backlink is a bonus irrespective of language. It may not more to your page ranking for English search but it is always good.

    Hi! thank you for your reply. I have checked "links to my site" in Search Console and it's not there. I am 100 perc sure that link is do-follow. Website, which links to me is an authority web (high traffic, great trends, high trust flow and citation flow). My website is relatevily new (1 month). Can it be the reason?

    Backlinks from foreign language websites having less value. Sure, it will hurt your ranking if these links are from spammy websites. Te link from authority and same niche websites always help in ranking but focus on one thing, if you are targeting US users and getting links from Russian websites with Russian anchor text. So when the users come to your website and see your website has all content written in English so, definitely the Russian user revert back from your website and SE notice all the thing from where your users are coming and what they do on the websites.
    So, first focus on who are your targeting audience and from where it is.
