    People are still talking about Blog Commenting for links isn't that stupid now-a-days? I mean yeah they can get you some referral traffic if you add some value in your comment but else they can't get you anywhere.

    Most of the blogs provide no-follow links and the least amount who they do provide do-follow links passes no real link juice at all.

    They shouldn't be anyone's primary focus, but blog comment backlinks are still useful. There's just no point in blasting out thousands of comments to random sites using software anymore. Look for relevant blogs to comment on and comment on them often, this helps with SEO and also referral traffic as you mentioned.

    Blog Commenting? Where? Why?
    Blog commenting is not the recommended technique and if you are doing it for link building purpose than you are on the wrong track.

    Where to do Blog Commenting and where to give reference or provide link- If you are read an article or blog post in your niche category and you find something new or interesting, or you found there is something missing so you can make a comment that adds some values to the readers, or if you have something related to the article that is more interesting you can provide the link in the comment with the valuable comment.

    Why do Blog Commenting- Blog Commenting is good if you want to share your experience on the particular post or want to add something valuable that the Original Author forgets to add in the post.

    But if you do blog commenting for link building purpose, you just waste your time.

    Posting useful comments and related blogs is still a way to get traffic from referrals. Not really worth it for SEO though IMHO.

    If comments is 1 of 100 ways of getting your links, then its fine.
    If you depend on comment links all the time, you might want to rethink your backlink strategy.

    It is pretty weak for SEO, but as mentioned by someone else you can get traffic if the comment is of interest to people.

    Blog commenting is still one of the effective ways to drive referral traffic. Blog commenting also helps you connect with like minded bloggers and increase your blog audience base. I am personally doing blog commenting and it helps me to get some loyal readers and subscribers as well.

    I would say it depends on the metrics of the page, if the comments are moderated by the domain owner and if it is do follow or not.

    I have to say that Blog commenting is still work until now!
    Here are some things you have to notice when you use this strategy:
    1, One email - One name when commenting
    2, The website that you comment have the same niche with your website!
    3, The content of your comment is relevant to the article and constructively!

    It is good and still effective technique but keep few points -
    1. Relevancy - If You have gadget business then comment only on the Gadgets blogs or websites
    2. Create links on user names
    3. Don't post link in the body section.
    4. Write relevant blog comment according to the Blog content.
    5. Provide link in the comment section but the keyword matches with the content of the whole comment.
