What is the cheapest or most reliable registrar to transfer/renew .com domains now?

    Hi all,

Godaddy's price is getting ridiculous from $8.19 last time to now $15 usd etc.

Name.com's is cheaper at $12.99, but does anybody here has any good recommendation for any other registrar?

    Thanks

    Regards,
    Felix Tan

I agree. But they have a good marketing! There is absolutely now reason to get a domain with them, only if you are into auctions maybe…

For the pest price I can recommend going with uniregistry, internet.bs or namesilo. If I remember right they all offer free whois privacy. Namesilo does not offer support at the weekend and also they have a bit strange UI. Don’t remember about the support hours of the other two. I have accounts with them and all domains work fine. If you (maybe) need support from time to time then in my opinion namecheap is top. They are always there to help if you screw up with something. Since about one year I get all new domains with uniregistry.

I would personally recommend Namecheap or Namesilo. Both have good prices that are much better than GoDaddy and have great support.

If you are looking for price comparisons on many of the top registrars then you may want to check out domcomp.

NameSilo offers free Whois Privacy forever. You can transfer your domains to them with the cheaper price. But if you want to stay at Godaddy and renew domains, you should try to use renewal coupons to get the discount prices. Good luck!

I've used a couple of them, like Godaddy and Netfirms. I still like Namecheap because they're fairly cheap and have excellent customer service, in terms of their live chat system.

I have domains at many registrars and the cheapest one is NameSilo (about $11). It also has free whois privacy.
At Name.com you can use the promo code "privacyplease" to get free privacy.

OnlineNIC is always a good price and I know the domains are in good hands. .COM is about $8.50 USD for Register/Renew/Transfer.

Internetbs has best prices, but NetEarthOne is offering even better if you purchase more from them, as they have tier system.
We at webxen are also offering very reasonable prices like $8.95 for a .com (Register, Renewal or Transfer) this price is same for all years.

Most of our domains with Namecheap right now. Their pricing and support is superb. You may also have a look into Alpnames, namecilo for low cost solution.

For a long-term website NameCheap is better and if one just buys to transfer the website later on within short time GoDaddy is better.
