Is it allowed to use Adsense AND adbrite in a same page?

 

Yes, as long as you have the adbrite contextual ads setting turned off.

I believe contextual ads are ads that are placed on your page based off content.

When you have this turned off, it means advertisers will not show on your page until someone actually buys a link at a set price.

Uhmm... unless I missed something... Adbrite is NOT contextual!

Contextual ads use some kind of logic to determine what ad to serve based on the content of the page the ad is on.

Adbrite does NOT do this! All Adbrite does is serve ads that are either randomly selected according to a category YOU set, or ads that have been sold specifically for your site. Since your content doesn't affect the ads in either of these cases, this does not qualify as a contextual ad!

In which case, yes, it's Ok to have Google Adsense and Adbrite on the same page.

At least, that's the way I see it.

"Network ads: Select this option if you want AdBrite to fill your unsold inventory with targeted pay-per-click ads of our choosing. Deselect this option if you're very choosy and only want to show ads that you've personally approved."

Which is quite vague in this context.

Okay, after reading many pages over and over and over, here's where I'm at:

- Google doesn't want any other ads on the same page that might look like Google Adsense.

- Google doesn't want any other contextual ads on the same page, whether they look like Adsense or not.

So technically, all you have to do is make your Adbrite ads look completely different from Adsense, which can be done easily since they use CSS...

BUT ONLY IF you're still using AdBrite 1.0 code. All ad zones generated since like October (I think) no longer allow custom CSS, so therefore you're screwed

So my conclusion... Adsense + AdBrite 1.0 is OK. Adsense + AdBrite 2.0 is not OK.

 

I already emailed Google Adsense team about it and still waiting for their reply. I am also interested to know the truth about it because I am also using both ads on my SELaplana blog.

Yes, one can use adsense+adbrite on same page. But I prefer adsense+sta-ads. They work quite good for me...

 

Adbrite is allowed but they must turned off not to display contextual ads, i am planing also to put adbrite, if someone have other thoughts then please write it down

 

Well, I have some YES, YES and some NO, NO...
So I'm still not sure 100% on this.
What's clear, is I don't want to jeopardize my adsense account but I'd like to diversify my sources of income...

Its sta-ads.com. They r quite simple and good im my opinion. I also tried adbrite. But made around 10 cents for few weeks. On the other hand I make atleast 50 cents per day with sta-ads.

 

I still don't believe AdBrite counts as "contextual". My understanding of "contextual" is that the ads served are based MAINLY on the actual content of the page.

As I said earlier, the Network Ads option AdBrite provides is based purely on the way YOU as the site owner categorize the site within AdBrite's system and your actual page content has NO bearing on the ads served. The categories at AdBrite are actually quite broad and the ads served are randomized within that category.

The only real conflict I can find between Adsense and AdBrite is that they can look alike.
