    Hello,

    I have three websites currently
    brianwisniewski.com -- programming website
    playwordsearch.com --- wordpress crossword/wordsearch website
tv-showapps.com -- apps that will be hosted via amazon/apple ect.

Within the last 24 hours i got notices from godaddy that I had to take down all my programs screensavers/wallpapers that i uploaded due to my file size being too big.

I have complied with the security after an hour chatting with them. They obvious say when we dictate changes you have to do them.. Makes no difference that you put them up 2 years prior.

They tried to sell me a business plan but refused to quote me until i get under 250. right now 313 secutiy compliant so no issue right this minute.

I have had great success with godaddy since moving away from Endurance International Group website hosting which destroyed my websites in migrations with several different hosting companies.

What are my options hosting wise? Opinions?

I want to continue doing what i do. But it seems roadblocks happen all over the place

    Good question:

Right now playwordsearch.com is the biggest site and is expanding with thousands of puzzles being added.
Brianwisniewski.com im adding programs but could put the files on a download site(like to keep it in house)
tv-showapps.com All apps will be hosted through app stores.

If the sites were making money the no brainer option would be spend the money. They are not..

So i need a plan that will give me

    Space
    Stable

Unlimited disk space does not exist.
You will be asked to reduce the amount of disk space that you are using, or an over-sale will not allow you to expand.
You'd better determine how much disk space you need, and take a normal VPS with expandability.

Okay well. Let me go from the beginning. Maybe im reading something wrong in terms of stats.

I have uploaded a pic of hosting stats

I have uploaded a pic from my playwordsearch.com website which is the puzzle based. Here you can see the size of my files.. This shows 30KB. that is the max size. But i have well over 2k pages already on the site. I'm pretty sure that is where my space is coming from 30,000*2000 = 60,000,000

I have expanded the site greatly over the last 3 months.

Does this give a better picture?

    Now im more confused.

take a look at these two. if the math holds brianwisniewski.com is worth 80GB

But after deleting all comments and so forth it says im only using 384MB now...???

I sincerely apologize for this running life blog. lol Im just trying to get things right and hope i dont have to spend a crap load of money

Is it possible that the following two things are happening

    1. the file data takes a bit to update
    2. There was a comment that was pending causing it?

I can't imagine deleting comments would open up 79GB of space. That would have to be an extraordinary amount of comments.

It was a good idea to avoid EIG hosts, but I also avoid GoDaddy. Their server performance lags other hosts dramatically.

The list of non-EIG hosts you have is a good one. I am personally hosted with both InMotion and SiteGround right now and enjoy both of their services.

Do not go with unlimited disk space providers unless you check their TOS. I will suggest you to use a good VPS for your websites which will be enough to handle all of your websites.

If I were you I would go for a VPS. I am very satisfied with namecheap vps and digital ocean vps. Namecheap's vps is managed and DO's one is not.

With a website that takes up that much space. Your site isn't suited for shared hosting. If you can offload the data in some way, picture storage for instance. Then shared may work. 79GB is a tall order for a shared hosting account that's not grossly over sold.

For large data, you should definitely go with VPS or Dedicated Server. Shared Hosting will not be a proper solution. Also, even if you find some providers offering unlimited disk space, you should double check the INODE LIMIT. Because, there are many providers who set inode limit. With limited inode, there is no use of unlimited disk space.
