Most of the people think that any kind of quality of design can give better quality print out, that is not correct. Because for print quality we have to use different resolution.

Is there any fixed for print related designs?
No, it depends on type of print, machine, colors and their requirement. But most of the times designers will choose 300 resolutions in order to get high quality print. Some of the designers will use 90-250 as per their print quality.

    What about web resolution?
Web resolution is always 72 only, it is fixed.

This is just a brief fundamental idea which will be useful for graphic design experts and we should know this.

If you have any other useful ideas, welcome.

For web resolution it the optimum is 72 ppi (pixels per inch)
For Print it is 300 dpi (Dots per inch)

The amount of pixels used in an image is referred to as ppi, or “pixels per inch”. What this tells us is the higher the pixels used in an image the more detail an image will have. Printed images, on the other hand are measured by dpi, or “dots per inch”. The reason for the distinction is that pixels are actually tiny squares, whereas, dots are…well…dots.

Web - 72 ppi (RGB mode)
Print - 300 ppi (CMYK mode) because all the RGB mode colors can't be printed, its used for digital medias. CMYK colors can be printed.

Also for printing, use CMYK color mode.
    For digital, use RGB mode.

For web 72 DPI and for printing 300 DPI they both are fixed as they are standards and these standards are used worldwide. Also RGB color mode for web and CMYK for printing.

Web resolution is measured in PPI (pixels per inch) and print resolution is measured in DPI (dots per inch)

Using print materials for marketing is like stopping Grey Market clothing and Electronic hardware markets in Metro cities of India from going Bankrupt that's why movie like Mercury got released which is also a useless Molecule after Digital and Smartwach got started marketing just in Apple stores which non of the customer could afford just like people in India could afford cheap smartphone or Feature phone. That's why Telecom companies are even going to launch INR 300 - INR 500 smartphone based on Android OS version consuming less battery.

The web resolution is measured in PPI(points per inch) and print resolution in DPI(dots per inch) the print resolution image can be used for screen resolution but the screen resolution described image if we use for print media then the image will look smudged and pixelate to the human eye.
