PayPal works great with digital products. I haven't tried stripe but have heard some mixed up reactions about them.

It greatly depends on the nature of your products. If you just want to sell your digital goods like ebooks and apps, try Avangate or Plimus. Used them for many years with great success. Great support too.

If you also want some type of advertising (well, at least showing your products to many potential buyers), you can consider Envato. However, your items can't be encoded and they will take about 50% of price. But you get some type of free advertising.

I have used both PayPal and Stripe and the customer service from Stripe is miles ahead of PayPal. You only need to google "paypal sucks" to get an idea of their account handling and customer support.
