Did you try site:yoursite.com ? 12 hours may not be long enough. I'd give it a couple days before I'd start to get concerned.

that is all your concerned about?
most people are concerned why they never make it...
or why it takes 10-24 months to get their off the ground....

if your site is not worthy, then google may not index
your site at all, as I have had those type of sites before
where little to nothing ever got indexed.....

google has a mind of its own...
google will index you when it sees fit to do so...

It takes longer than that for a new site to get indexed.

I've never understood the fixation on indexing speed.

    Indexing /= Ranking in Google.

    right on...

I think some people are just in AWE when they post on these top
sites that have been around for years, then they see their post index right away....

Getting your content to index is only step 1....
Getting your content to rank & bank is a different ball game....

Have you submitted a google xml feed to google's webmaster tools?
    have they accepted the feed?

What is your content that it's so important that it is indexed quickly?
If people need the content quickly then you may be better off buying some advertising

How much content you have on your site? If it's brand new with little content, there's no point to be surprised.
Just continue what you're doing, add good content consistently, focus on SEO and you will get there.

Submitting your site to Google does not mean your site will get ranking on it. Indexing is a difference with Ranking. Your site is indexed but it doesn't get high ranking to appear on the top of SERPs.

Best thing you can do is share a URL from the site, like a blog post, on Reddit, G Plus, Twitter, etc.

This has helped me get sites indexed and ranked quickly. Although the high ranking is temporary, it's still a good way to get started and get immediate traffic.

If its new its going to take a while to see your site. Put quality content on it over time you will see rankings. Give it a few months like 3-6.. you need to be consistent with your content.
