How to clean an old email list?

    I have an old email list and i want to reactivate it. The problem is with invalid emails which I want to check for not having a high bounce rate. So I'm looking for software to cleanup this list. After comparing multiple platforms, I came to the conclusion that zerobounce email validation system , is the best one. Do you think it's a good choice?

    These guys do their tests manually which won't be very efficient: https://tools.verifyemailaddress.io/Articles/Ping/How_To_Ping_Email_Address/

    I used to test emails about 15 years ago and the methods probably still exist - they were just what the article describes but programmed into php so you could query the database and loop through the results.

    These days all our email sending is through Mandrill and we let them take charge of that stuff. Their webhooks tell us when we need to do something.

    I use zerobounce email validation system. It's very effective, cheap and it also comes with an easy to use API. Moreover, it’s simply the best and has the richest dataset of returned information to make actionable decisions on.

    I have a subscriber list of about 4 months. The problem is that the delivery rate is below 60% and do not understand the reasons for which this occurs.

    There's no excuse for having such poor deliverability. You need to cull the bad emails and accept that people have moved on.
