    Google and all other search engine ignore the meta keywords. There is no effect on google ranking through meta keywords.

    I wouldn't go as far as to say outright 'no'. They are definitely not worth focussing on or trying to over-optimise, but with most google activities, we don't really know if they are taking it in to account (similar to the 'nofollow' issue). It will not hurt to make sure your metatags are correct, but it is unlikely to have an isolated impact
