I want to know about bookmarking sites, in a video tutorial I came to know that it is a good SEO practice and one can get back links. Can you please guide what are bookmarking sites? where i can get list of good sites and is it a good SEO practice now days?

For example you can write some catchy lines in twitter to attract user attention.
