Does twitter really help with Backlinks?

    I have seen in a few blogs that twitter is another source of backlinks, on the contrary, when people discuss backlinks, twitter rarely comes up as a viable option, Please somebody help me understand this better.

    If it is, dofollow or nofollow??

    Link from twitter doesn't count in backlink as matt cutts mentioned over here https://searchenginewatch.com/sew/news/2325343/matt-cutts-facebook-twitter-social-signals-not-part-of-google-search-ranking-algorithms However twitter can be very valubale in order to bring traffic to you webs

    Back-links always play a positive role in getting traffic to the website. Whether it is Twitter or Facebook each social media site gets benefit by the back-links. The main thing you need to keep in mind is that the your back-link must be related to your business, product and service for which you are promoting in the social media.

    Twitter links do count as backlinks but in SERP they add no value to the ranking. Just get Twitter traffic with them.

    I use twitter to get to good relevant content through the links people post. It may not help them in link juice but it brings them my traffic
