Has anyone tried Digital Ocean with a 1 click install? What are the advantages to using a host like this if any?
Most of todays web hosting providers offer one click installs, whether it is Softaculous,Quick Install or another one. The advantage is that there is no need to worry about uploading files and creating a database as the installer does it for you after you input a few things during setup. You can have your website up and running in literally a matter of minutes. Of course customizing and other plugins, setup etc takes a bit of time no matter which way you choose to go.
Thanks for the reply. Here's a slightly more complicated question. Digital Ocean offers installation of WordPress on Ubuntu 16.04 and they also offer installation on Ubuntu 14.04. Why would they offer installation on Ubuntu 14.04 which is an older version of Ubuntu?
wordpress is obviously the biggest and alot of stuff available for it, but for being the biggest it really aint up there as far as how it works. regular html doesnt even work properly in posts all the time, its like a mystery. you cant even hit rite click everytime without it not going on the proper menu like copy or paste. plugins are a major load on your server if you have a shared plan. theyre always updating it why not correct the obvious stuff. countless things im sure anyone could come up with something they know doesnt work rite about it
