Based on your experience, how long did it take you to get decent traffic from search engines?

For me, I have been doing SEO for more than 1 year, and I still get 70 visits a month. I know it's bad.

What is more important, higher ranking or high indexed pages?

 

3 month is enough for set completely seo and start owing traffic as per my experience.

Getting decent traffic from search engines depends on several factors like:
1. Purpose of the site means it is an eCommerce site, informational or any other types of site.
2. Is updated with users' requirements or still based on outdated content and techniques.
3. Is static or dynamic site etc.

I had a blog and I was getting decent traffic after two month but my blog was regularly updated with good content.

 

As per my understanding, we should start seeing some traffic numbers from search engines by the end of three months. No doubt traffic rankings are much more important than number of indexed pages. We should only get the original content pages into Google index to be safe from any kind of Panda related from Google bots.

 

Actually too many factors to say it could be anything from 4 weeks to never.

 

I don't have time to do SEO so I hired someone to do SEO for me.

Assuming you did keyword research right. It takes about 3-6 months. It takes time. Its just good keyword research with good quality content over time google will notice your site.

If you have a new site then it will take more than 6 months to get good ranking in Google, but if you have older website then it shouldn't take more than 2-3 months for better ranking.

As you said that your ranking has been decreased due to Google recent update, then you should audit your SEO and find the black holes why you got hit by recent Google update.

 

It takes 3 months to get higher rankings by using SEO, if you are a good seo professional.
It can also take 6 months or longer if you are not an seo expert.

I want to measure the different experiences people had with their website. I know that it takes at least 3 months to get organic traffic but it's different for each person.

For me I got bad results. I want to see what other people got.

 

Yes many functions like the people said. Get social signals they often take a lot. Many factors are the key for a good SEO so it doesnt just take time it takes hard work as well.

Don't spend a lot of money if you aren't sure about it. Plan and strategy is the key for a good seo.

 

It depends on how you use your SEO for your site. Some focus on ranking. But what really matters is generating leads. It may even take months but gets you good results.
