What are the basic rules for SEO?

My name is Sushmita and I'm a digital marketing student learning SEO and would like to know the basic rules to keep in mind while performing SEO for my client?

What I have taught, in the past with some of my own products (not a plug) is that there is no short-cut to SEO.
It takes time and when you follow the guidelines laid out you will have success.
A lot of people think you can black-hat their way to page 1 in like 2 days.
Is it possible?
Yes
Will it last?
No
Are there other things you can do?
Yes like using a Private Blog Network or getting backlinks.
I've used software and stuff and got good page rankings.
But they didn't last.
Google loves relevant content.
And when you follow the guidelines laid out you can't go wrong.

There are number of rules for SEO but first rule is don't share website or any other link until it is really required for others.

1. Build links without spamming. And you can do that by building pages that are helpful when you build backlinks on other websites, not just content to get links.
2. Don't buy links.
3. Stay away from spam and over optimization.

1.I always perform an SEO audit with GTmetrix, SEOprofiler & WebsiteGrader to find out and rectify errors & inconsistencies with on-page
2.Always Follow Google SEO Parameters & Keeping up-to-date with Search Engine Algorithm updates
3.I create a unique & relevant content specific to the client's niche
4.Avoid low quality domains at any cost

 

Just read the blogs and try the things one by one. But always follow the Google Guidelines.

 

Write unique content and use the keywords that you are targeting in the title's of your pages, in H1, H2 and H3 tags and throughout your content, but don't over do it.

Submit links to your website in social networks like Twitter or Reddit. It's going to take time for your organic traffic to start building up, it's just the nature of Google these days. Unless you have your own private network of blogs/websites, link building is going to take time.

 

The Basic rules of SEO are to rank your website on your relevant keywords according to the recommendations of Google.

 

SEO has to be a daily bread for your blog if you want it to rank high, on page, off page, backlinks, etc. As already mentioned, you should remember that no short cut will stand the test of time, the best way is to always get all these things done the right way. And that means painstakingly taking your time to do it right.
