    I've used Freelancer and iWriter before, I've made some money off both.

    iWriter is difficult to start out on, because they want you to pay a fee to access the higher paying article jobs, or you have to complete a certain amount of the lower paying jobs to work your way up.

    You don't really have to advertise your writing services on Freelancer, you can just bid on projects and you'll get picked up by someone. Usually if you do a good job on your first task, they'll pick you up for consistent work and you can bypass the whole fee that freelancer takes from your payments.
