Contest "Shaka" Shirt Design - 48 hr - Looks Good on a Shirt ;)

Hi. So What I need is a shirt design for BYU-Hawaii. I want to put the "shaka" for the Y in BYU.

Also I want the outline of the Hawaiian Islands in the design. Probable above it would look good.

This needs to look good on a shirt that guys and girls can wear. I have a couple pictures to get the general idea, but the design should NOT look exactly like these pictures. This is only to give you a general idea. Be creative and make this look good for a t-shirt. I like the font in the hat picture though.

@cosmin90 thanks for making this look decent on a shirt. Can you do the same thing but on a gold-ish shirt with red-ish colors like this:

And on a Crimson shirt with white colors.
Also, is it possible to invert this so that the design is blank but the background is coloured. You can do black shirt with white background similar to this:

so that the design is the same color of the shirt and the print is in a square around it. Just invert the colors. Does that make sense?

 

@Mcillustartor Thanks for thinking out of the box. I think if your idea is going to work it would have to be something like this:


Just Google BYUH camplus and put that picture in the shaka (hand) and put "Brigham Young University Hawaii Established in 1955" around it. You could also put "Enter to learn go forth to serve around it" if you have room. Or whatever looks good.

I would use different colors too. The BYUH colors are gold and crimson.

 

Thanks for your entery @ngodz I like that you tried the two different ways of organizing the wording. I'm leaning towards the BYU in bigger words at the top and Hawaii in smaller on the bottom. I like that you used the BYUH crimson color. I don't like that green. The other BYUH color is gold.

 

If anyone wants to think really outside the box here is some feedback on what might work .... Check out some polynesian designs online:


I'm thinking to make the BYUH letters with these designs in or around them .. and the shaka too.
I found an example of the shaka with these designs in it:

 

Here are some letters with the polynesian design I found online. So I'm not looking for exactly like this but something like this might work. I don't think the design needs to look super complex. In the shaka I think it would need to be more complex but the letters can be simple, like the H below (but not a copy of this H).


If anyone can make this work, or look good on a shirt I would pay them $40. This would be above the standard simple design that started in the contest.
