    Hi!

Couple of months ago I tried new network for traffic arbitrage. I want to share my experience with you, since you probably never heard of Adnow.com and might be interested if they’re any good. Spoiler alert: I lost $40 on my first campaign, but that makes my case even more valuable.

    Source: http://Adnow.com/
    Partner Platform: Adcombo
    Offer: Goji facial cream
    Geo: Thailand
    Period: 5 april 2016 – 17 may 2016
    Outcome: $108
    Income: $68 (8.5 on hold)
    Profit: ~ -40$

Let’s begin with some screens from PP and Adnow:

    Adnow:

What’s so interesting about that “negative” case?

First, it happened relatively recently, which means you can use it.

Second, it was just a test of a new network. After the basic optimization (I’m about to find the best landing/prelanding combination and best promos, based on conversion and click through rates) it will definitely make profit for me for a few sweet weeks.

I’ve made 2 campaigns for a testing offer: web and mobile. The latter didn’t show any results so I canceled it. Web-campaign is still working.

Every time I start a new campaign I’m picking different promo subjects and create 4-5 teasers for each. In that case I’ve picked 2 subjects: 1) before/after: 2) face mask. Here’s an example:

    4ccdc79a05.jpg

First testing proved that before/after subject is much better, so I’ll stick to it and make some new creatives.

Here’s the important stuff, people: one of prelanding pages has showed better conversion than other two, and not only better but 3 times better. ALWAYS do A/|B testing for landings/prelandings.

Adnow.com has A LOT of traffic for Thailand so you should always watch your limits or you’d lose your budget faster than you can say “CTR”. But high traffic volume is actually a good thing after you optimize your campaign.

So what have we learned today? First of all, don’t be afraid of small losses when testing, it’s a common and easily fixed thing, especially if opportunities for optimization is obvious (like in my case with prelandings and promos). I’m going to work with blacklist a bit to maximize ROI.

Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have, I’ll gladly answer. Case is recent and still can be used.

I started working a few months ago with Adnow.com, and until this moment I'm pretty satisfied, considering the fact that my site is still at an early stage. At first I did not know what to expect, but we found a pleasant surprise as it is a good network. There are several good months in which collaboration between me and Adnow was one which I consider fruitful.

As you can see, payments are made between specific intervals as you can see in the screenshot above. Adnow make payments on time and allows them to be done by several methods: Paypal, Wire, Webmoney and Payoneer.

There is also a system of referrals, but I'm not very strong so far insisted on this option. For publishers, Adnow regularly organizes competitions in which you can win various prizes. Until now I have not found any reason to complain about the network and I recommend it with pleasure.

Hello Alyssahurkey. Thanks for your your informative thread. I am not really bothered with small losses. Its part of the risk.
    However, I have one question.
The mobile ads. What strikes me as odd is that you said the mobile adds didn't thrive well when you first started the campaign. You didn't mention if that problem was later surmounted.
I will be giving adnow.com a shot just because I feel they will serve the right purpose. Pending the moment, let us know if you solved the afore mentioned challenge.

You know these days, everyone uses a mobile device and any advertisement that shows only on the web might not reach a larger audience. I will try out the mobile ads.
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate.

    Good choice, man.

I don't know why, but my ads always worked better on mobile. Not only with adnow.com, but with every network I ever tried. I thought it's because future is here and mobile gets more reaction as a rule. I'm surprised to hear it's not like that for everyone.

Most users have ad blocker software on desktops, but not a lot have it on their mobile. Therefore, ads receive more impressions on a mobile device than on desktop.

This is just another reason why perfectly responsive websites are very important.

In my opinion, nobody does mobile ad placement better than MyThemeShop.

BTW, do you know of any ad networks that can bypass AdBlocks? Is that even possible?

I don't know about ad networks. However, I can easily make an affiliate banner show no matter what software is being used.

Ad Blockers don't block images, right?

So, just make your banners look like images. Don't use traditional banner sizes, make them obscure. Instead of 400x400, do 403x399.

Also, be very careful about the image file name. Instead of pro-flowers-728-80.png change it to flowers.jpg. Ad blocker software will assume it's just an image and leave it alone.

Be sure to test each "banner" using ad blocker software turned on. My conversion rates have jumped significantly after I started implementing these strategies.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to attach any javascript for tracking purposes, but you can attach a bit.ly link or something if you'd like.

Your code will look something like <a href="http://bit.ly/CheapFlowers"><img src="/images/flowers.jpg"></a>

But there's nothing I can do for ad networks, right?

Correct, and with Adsense I wouldn't even try.

Just try and funnel more mobile users to your site for increased clicks.

Also, switching to native ads has significantly increases my revenue - plus I am in control of my ads.

    Are you sure about this?
Maybe you should put up a complain about that to the customer care

There could possibly be a misunderstanding.
There was also an incident of such on the other thread which was resolved.

I guess a dialogue with their customer care representative should ease out the situation

Of course this is a misunderstanding. Guy was cheating and Adnow blocked him. He misunderstood the part in their rules and terms, when it was clearly said, that CHEATING IS FORBIDDEN.

If you don't cheat on Adnow they pay honest.
