What are basic steps for SEO learner?

 

I would start reading a lot of posts from authority sites like seochat or kissmetrics. Also problogger is good, just try and learn as much as you can. In general speaking though....SEO is not hard, you just need to write the best article you can on a given subject and give the best information you can to the readers, if you do a good job people will read it and like it and spread it, gaining you links and more traffic, if you do a poor job, nothing will happen, i believe good SEO is 80% producing great content....the remaining 20% can come easy after that. hope this helps

Method to get your article indexed faster and rank:
I am new to this forum. So I though to start contributing to this forum.
Here is what I do to get my articles indexed and get a ranking.

1. Write a long post.
2. Have keyword density max up to 4%.
3. Use media and infographics.
4. Check how much percent your post has plagiarised content. Rewrite it if it has less than 40% uniqueness.
5. Ping your post URL.
6. Fetch as google from google webmaster.

For checking plagiarised content and keyword density you can visit smallseotools . com but you can check upto 1000 words only. I find out one alternative website http://smallseo.tools [.tools new tld] which has 3000 words limit with no captcha or regisration required. It also has same tools as small seo tool .com one.

If you really want to learn SEO, hire a mentor. There isn't any other really good way to learn this trade.

No, ebooks, webinars, blog posts are not going to help you (I can't stress that enough). A mentor will have a method, a teaching program that will take you from ignorant to knowledgeable. That's the path you need to take.

 

But if you can't afford to have one? I have to disagree with you on ebooks, webinars and blog posts, those sources are very beneficial.
I think it is actually important to have at least basic knowledge on SEO, and you can start from any of those sources.
I'm just being practical, but yeah if he can afford to invest on having a mentor then why not?

 

In my humble opinion, if you cannot afford one, I suggest getting a job, saving money and hiring one as soon as you can.
You just cannot learn SEO out of the thin air or reading blog posts about it.

Of course, you are entitled the right to disagree.
