HipHop shop any advice ?

My cousin is starting a new hip-hop shop and he is looking for an advice before starting.

Please feel free to share ideas, suppliers, brands etc

Hip Hop Shop advice is a great Idea, You must add some products like T-Shirts Where Image can be Imprinted , even wristbands can also go with this in a cool way. Must add these products.

 

My suggestion on top of what's previous mention would be:

* To Trademark your hip hop brand so it can grow and stand out over time.
* Have R&B & Hip Hop or relevant music on the background to the type of people that stops by to show a type of welcome.
* I would highly suggest an web store, don't have to be created yet but later on as business increase as internet is worldwide audience, and that means more business.
* If possible try to be one of the earliest guys to have the newest product of these shoes, hat & etc.. that way you built an reputation out there for being fast for products that customer like. So they will likely return back to you for business if they want shoes or hat again.

A nice fanpage could also help, you could inform customers about new arrivals and maybe share with them some news from the Hip Hop industry to make it more diffrential.

 

You must start doing promotion, because in today's world promotion is the most important thing. Start doing with Facebook , twitter and tumblr.
Create a page, blogs, website.
Definitely your business will gain attention.
even you can promote your business by taking some reasonable products, just to attract more and more people.

 

What's the difference between hip hop and rap music (culture)? Isn't it pretty much one and the same? I don't know how it is in Ireland, but here where I am at if someone told me they were opening a hip hop shop, the first thing I'd say would be why not call it a "rap music shop"?

It would be great to have a website with your hiphop shop and some accounts in social media sites as well as with blog sites. Establish your brand in different mediums so that you will reach your target audience.
