Benefits of Twitter in Marketing

Could someone please explain to me the benefits of marketing with twitter
I am a bit overwhelmed with all the information
For either a hotel website or auto dealership websites pf what use would twitter be and how best could and would it be employed ?

There you will find legitimate people who will tweet for a fee.

Just build a huge group if followers within your niche then tweet and re-tweet but keep it professional and friendly!

 

The reason I felt "overwhelmed" is that if not done in a limited or planned fashion twitter could take all a person's time. Sort of like these people who spend all day on messenger programs speaking to all their "friends"
For a local hotel, that I do Search Engine work for , how would a twitter campaign be planned ,set up and focused ?

twitter is hard work, you need to follow 10000 to gain 900 users roughly so you really need to follow, then unfollow. it takes time or a team of people just following and unfollowing. i do find however twitter moves a bit fast so your advertising needs to be often and pretty or it goes unnoticed.

Yes, Twitter is good to promote as a news channel ..but very poor in conversions
