These are the best steps for increasing the rank in local services in my experience.

 

For increasing local searches, you can add geo meta. This helps to increase ranking on local search. You will find geo meta tags available on search engines. Just put it on your meta section.

 

For increasing local search audiences-
1) google webmaster tools ( target country)
2) bing webmaster tools (target country)
3) Geographic (City/Neighborhood) Keyword Relevance of Domain Content
4) Embedded Google Map ( this helps a lot)

The most probably thing is that they are following this advices, or that they even have experts doing the work for them, SEO is not rocket science, the information about it is available everywhere.

 

For local searching, you need to list your business on local listing sites. But it's not enough to just submit site on local listing sites. You need to find the relevant local sites according to your service & then submit the correct detail of your business on only good sites.
Created your Google+ & Facebook page and joined relevant groups & communities. Make a connection through groups. Facebook play a major role so work on it & built the good connection.
Blogging: Content is one of the biggest parts of increasing the visibility on search engine. Create blog & submit the good content.
Getting link through good DA sites. Guest post & blog commenting play well for branding & traffic for business.

 

Sonali, In your case it is best to use .in extension instead of .com for your website. It will certainly have desired impact in local search.

 

And the most important point that will boost up your traffic is to get India based hosting server.

 

You need to add your site in yello pages, classifieds, local listing sites and don't forgot to add it first in Google business and bing business site.

 

Much of the advice you are getting here is worthless.
1. Social media won't help you rank
2. Fresh content won't help you rank
3. Target country in webmaster tools won't help you rank locally. (It just tells Google you don't want traffic from anywhere else)
4. Links from high PA/DA won't help you rank. PA and DA have nothing to do with Google.

It's simple.....

Get do-follow links from LOCAL business directories that allow you to have 200+ word descriptions, titles, images, etc. These directories MUST be either hosted in your country or have your country TLD extension.
Get a verified Google places page and lots of citations from the above directories. Throw in a couple of PBN's you can knock together for 10 dollars a pop (if you know what you are doing) and Fire some links at them from the same directories above and you are done.
