Google search ends after 21 pages, default, fake or error?

When I checked my blog in google search with
site:domain.com/blog/

it showed me 792 results (0.31 seconds)



But soon after the 21st page, when I clicked next page that is 22, it shows me 217 results (0.37 seconds)



Is this some kind of default, error or google showing fake results. Just to show off that they have too many stuff in the search engine, so show more figures. But the reality or truth is FAKE.
What do you think?

 

I'd guess it is an error, but only Google knows for sure.

 

it is not error in some keywords you can't get more result.

Its almost for every keyword for my sites. I think this happens to every site and keyword. Guess they are just showing off more number in the first 10 or 15 pages and then show the real numbers. Who would always take much effort to check every page till the end.

It is default,when google think it is not nessary to display more serach resaults,it will odmit them.

 

It's been like this on Google for a long time. What you did by clicking all the way to the end on the search result pages, gave you the accurate result. Not too many people realize this... especially when learning about the competition or doing keyword researching.
